Volunteering at Sacred Heart Home

Volunteers help make Sacred Heart Home special. We have many opportunities for individuals and groups. Here are just a few:

• Adopt a Grandmother
• Pets on Wheels
• Assisting with daily Mass
• Craft projects
• Indoor plant care
• Organize parties and games, carnivals and musical performances
• Provide some of the "little extras" such as lap robes, door decorations, bingo prizes, etc.

Job Title: Housekeeper Posted On: June 19, 2009 Location: Hyattsville, Maryland 20782 Detailed Description: Daily cleaning and supplying resident rooms, nursing stations, dining areas, restrooms, offices, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the EVS Dept. nad in accordance with the facilitys objectives. Will use cleaning devices including wet mops, buckets, wringers, dusters, commercial vacuums, and other necessary tools, products, and supplies. Job Requirements: 1. Must be able to speak and understand verbal instructions (English language). 2. High school education desirable, but not necessary 3. Prolonged standing and walking required. 4. Will have to bend, kneel, stoop, and reach to perform cleaning tasks. 5. Must be able to left a minimum of 30 lbs.
